Our missionary farewell (or rather, opportunity to speak in Sacrament Meeting) was held Sunday, June 28. Following that, we had a very nice family gathering at our house. Bill and "sons" braved the 100 degree heat and cooked hamburgers on the grill, while we all sweltered and sought refuge in the house. We enjoyed so much being able to see family that hadn't been together for awhile. Both Sue and Jim (Bill's brother and sister) were there, plus many of their family members. The picture below shows not only them, but two of Bill's Myer cousins (Brenda and Carolyn) plus spouses. How grateful we are for family!!
The topic for our talks was "Temples". Because there were two youth speakers also, the time went quickly, and Bill had to give one of his "short summary" talks! Our favorite part of the program, however, was the 15 grandchildren singing "I Know That My Savior Loves Me". So cute!! Melted a Grandma's heart! If you count in the picture below, however, you'll see that we picked up an extra kid since one of McCoy's neighbor friends (Brigham Burns) decided to join in the singing! Cutest thing I've seen in a long time - I love his attitude of participating when there's a need to "go and do"! I hope I can do that on our mission!
